We’re launching an exciting new initiative to support Not-for-Profits by Emma Watts

Happy #GivingTuesday! We hope everyone is giving generously of their many resources, both personal and financial, as we round out 2016. We thought #GivingTuesday would be an ideal time to update you on our corporate responsibility initiatives and our commitment to Pledge 1%. Back in July, we committed to developing and publishing a comprehensive CSR programme so there’s full transparency about how we will Pledge 1%. The programme is well on its way, with 2 Co-heads of CSR already appointed, each dedicating a day a week of their time to developing the programme.

We understand that it’s our duty to serve the communities where we do business as corporate citizens of the world, whilst ensuring our staff has every opportunity to champion the causes they believe in. From apprenticeships to pro-bono to a charity of the year, we’re getting set for a full launch of the programme in the new year. It will include ambitious targets for employee volunteering, fundraising for our chosen charity, and at least 6 transformative Salesforce implementations for smaller charities. These are a just a few examples of how we’re actively working to create a holistic platform from which we can champion the Not-for-Profit sector in our everyday work.

In the meantime, we want to share an initiative we’re incredibly excited about: a new style of support for small charitable organisations called Pay What You Can Consultancy. Pay What You Can consultancy offers organisations the chance to implement Salesforce at a price point that works for them. If an organisation qualifies for support from this programme, we don’t set the price – they do. Whether it’s £5 or £5,000, we don’t mind, we run the project to the same high standards. We’ll work to an agile methodology, prioritising the most important functionality to roll out first and working from there. Each side will have the chance to review the work and decide whether to keep going with further development. All internal members of staff at makepositive will have the chance to get involved, meaning that organisations can benefit from the skills of developers, business analysts, and technical architects.

Corporate Social Responsibility isn’t just an initiative at makepositive, it’s something we’re working hard to embed deeply within our company culture and core values, with everybody from our CEO to trainees being able to offer something to our charitable work. We understand that the same skills, passion, and enthusiasm we give to our clients can also be used to benefit the communities and causes that need them most. We understand that it’s our duty to serve the communities where we do business as corporate citizens of the world, whilst ensuring our staff has every opportunity to champion the causes they believe in. Our Pay What You Can consultancy offer is available immediately.

We’re finalising the criteria and application form as we write this, but if you’re interested in discussing how a PWYC implementation could work for your organisation, do get in touch with Rajni Beghal at [email protected] to find out more!
